Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking a skilled Trust and Estates Paralegal to join their team in the Washington, DC office. What You Will Do:

  • Administer estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and guidelines
  • Prepare federal and state estate tax returns accurately and in a timely manner
  • Compile fiduciary accountings and income tax returns, providing comprehensive financial information
  • Assist lawyers in estate planning and administration tasks, leveraging your expertise
  • Manage all aspects of trust accounts, including record-keeping and reconciliation
  • Prepare various legal documents, such as probate papers, federal and state tax returns, and fiduciary accountings
  • Engage in extensive client contact, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service
  • Calendar and monitor key dates and deadlines to ensure the timely completion of tasks

Essential Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Paralegal trust and estates experience
  • Proficiency in administering estates and trusts, including legal compliance and documentation
  • Experience in preparing federal and state estate tax returns accurately and efficiently
  • Strong knowledge and ability to compile fiduciary accountings and income tax returns
  • Familiarity with estate planning and administration tasks, providing valuable support to attorneys
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of trust accounts, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficient in preparing probate papers, federal and state tax returns, fiduciary accountings, and income tax returns
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage in extensive client contact and build strong relationships
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to calendar and monitor key dates and deadlines

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in administering estates and trusts, including legal compliance and documentation
