Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking a skilled Trust and Estates Paralegal to join their team in the Washington, DC office. What You Will Do:
- Administer estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and guidelines
- Prepare federal and state estate tax returns accurately and in a timely manner
- Compile fiduciary accountings and income tax returns, providing comprehensive financial information
- Assist lawyers in estate planning and administration tasks, leveraging your expertise
- Manage all aspects of trust accounts, including record-keeping and reconciliation
- Prepare various legal documents, such as probate papers, federal and state tax returns, and fiduciary accountings
- Engage in extensive client contact, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service
- Calendar and monitor key dates and deadlines to ensure the timely completion of tasks
Essential Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of Paralegal trust and estates experience
- Proficiency in administering estates and trusts, including legal compliance and documentation
- Experience in preparing federal and state estate tax returns accurately and efficiently
- Strong knowledge and ability to compile fiduciary accountings and income tax returns
- Familiarity with estate planning and administration tasks, providing valuable support to attorneys
- Proven ability to manage all aspects of trust accounts, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient in preparing probate papers, federal and state tax returns, fiduciary accountings, and income tax returns
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage in extensive client contact and build strong relationships
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to calendar and monitor key dates and deadlines
