JOB PURPOSE: This firm is seeking a Professional Development Assistant for its Philadelphia office. The Professional Development (PD) Assistant is a highly motivated individual with excellent attention to detail that will assist in implementing firmwide professional development initiatives. The PD Assistant reports to the Director of Professional Development. The PD Assistant will work with the Director of Professional Development to further the firmwide long-term professional development strategy including implementing and maintaining training programs for all firm members and supporting attorney evaluation processes. The PD Assistant will also have additional responsibilities that intersect with Professional Development, specifically including the firm’s coaching and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. They will provide support to the Director of Coaching and Well-Being; the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager; and the Professional Development Specialists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain PD-related attorney data in Dayforce, our HRIS system, and pull reports as needed.

• Assist with tasks related to attorney review processes using viEval software

• Prepare draft review communications, timelines, and review binders and maintain process

• checklists.

• Maintain responsibility for checking the Professional Development Outlook inbox and responding

• to questions.

• Serve as point person for attorneys seeking career advising or coaching and direct them to the

• correct resource

Support the Director of Professional Development and the Professional Development Specialists in delivering firmwide, department and practice specific training. This includes the following:

• Assisting with program logistics including scheduling, registration, materials, and logistics including conference room facilities, catering and technology

• Serving as a point of contact for internal presenters and outside consultants and vendors

• Providing on-site support for training programs such as orientations and retreats.

• Support the Director of Coaching and Well-Being in delivering firmwide well-being training

• Assist with Associate and Counsel orientation and integration as needed.

• Assist with the implementation of the attorney mentor program, including communicating with mentors and mentees and assisting with the annual Firmwide Mentoring Awards.

• Assist with data requests for internal and external surveys

• Submit invoices and expenses into Chrome River software

• Provide general back-up support to the Director of Professional Development, Director of

• Coaching and Well-Being, and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Manager.

• Assist with special programs and projects and collaborate with other departments as needed.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by manager.

KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS REQUIRED

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree required.

• At least 1 year of work experience in a professional setting is preferred.

• Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

• Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the following during the work day:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (working at a computer)

• Repetitive movement (i.e. heavy computer/keyboard use).

• Individual will interact regularly with others verbally, in-person, and via written communication.

• May require occasional light lifting (files, copy paper, etc.).
