AI Innovation Attorney (New York, NY)
We are partnering with a prestigious law firm to hire an AI Innovation Attorney. This highly visible position offers the opportunity to play a central role in advancing the firm’s artificial intelligence strategy, working directly with attorneys and firm leadership to integrate AI into the practice of law.
The AI Innovation Attorney will serve as a trusted advisor and hands-on expert in generative AI tools, including Harvey, helping attorneys leverage emerging technologies to improve efficiency, enhance legal workflows, and deliver exceptional client service. Reporting to the Chief AI Strategy and Innovation Officer, this individual will help drive AI adoption, develop practical solutions, and shape how the firm utilizes AI across its legal practices.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the firm’s internal AI expert, advising attorneys on the effective and responsible use of generative AI tools

Develop and deliver AI training programs, workshops, and individualized guidance for attorneys across practice groups

Design, test, and refine AI prompts, workflow agents, and technology-enabled solutions for legal matters

Partner with attorneys and practice leaders to identify opportunities to integrate AI into existing legal workflows

Create reusable AI solutions, prompting libraries, best practices, and educational resources

Support attorneys in applying AI tools to active matters while ensuring accuracy, quality, and appropriate use

Evaluate emerging AI technologies, participate in vendor assessments, and coordinate platform testing and pilot programs

Identify barriers to AI adoption and develop practical strategies to improve engagement and utilization
Qualifications

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Minimum 5+ years of substantive law firm experience in litigation or corporate/transactional practice

Strong understanding of legal workflows, attorney work product, and the demands of sophisticated legal practice

Demonstrated interest in and hands-on experience with generative AI platforms such as Harvey, Legora, ChatGPT, or Claude

Familiarity with AI prompting, context engineering, and technology-enabled legal workflows

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and engage attorneys at all levels

Ability to translate complex AI capabilities into practical applications that enhance legal service delivery

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement
