Litigation Legal Assistant – NJ

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience.
  • Extensive experience with New Jersey state court filings.
  • Experience with New York, Pennsylvania, and Federal Court e-filing is a plus.
  • Experience supporting medical malpractice defense litigation preferred.
  • Trial preparation experience.
  • Working knowledge of the iManage document management system.
  • Ability to manage multiple caseloads, deadlines, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, proofread, revise, and file legal documents.
  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation.
  • Manage court calendars and monitor litigation deadlines.
  • Schedule travel, meetings, appointments, and maintain attorney calendars.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files.
  • Submit new matter intake and conflict check requests.
  • Enter attorney time and assist with client billing.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and assist other legal assistants as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey court rules and filing procedures.
  • Familiarity with New York, Pennsylvania, and Federal Court filing requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting critical deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and ability to maintain confidentiality
