Conflicts Attorney (Remote – New York, Los Angeles, or Washington, DC metro areas)
We are partnering with an elite law firm to hire a Conflicts Attorney for its Office of General Counsel. This is a newly created position driven by firm growth and offers the opportunity to play a key role in the firm’s global risk management function.
Working closely with partners, the Office of General Counsel, and the Conflicts Team, this attorney will review and analyze complex conflicts issues related to new business intake and, to a lesser extent, lateral hires. The ideal candidate will have significant large law firm conflicts experience, excellent analytical and communication skills, and a strong understanding of legal ethics and professional responsibility.
This position can be 100% remote for candidates residing in the New York, Los Angeles, District of Columbia metro areas.
Two flexible shifts are available: 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM ET or 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM PT.

Responsibilities:
Review and analyze complex conflicts reports related to new clients, new matters, and lateral hires
Identify legal and business conflicts and advise partners on appropriate resolution strategies
Draft conflict waivers and assist with obtaining necessary approvals
Prepare and implement ethical walls, including drafting screening memoranda
Review new business intake requests and ensure accuracy of matter and client information
Review conflicts questionnaires and lateral matter lists
Research corporate family structures and ownership relationships
Monitor and research applicable ethics rules and professional responsibility requirements
Document conflict resolutions and maintain supporting records
Provide guidance and mentorship to Conflicts Analysts
Collaborate closely with the Office of General Counsel and attorneys across the firm
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor degree required
Active law license in good standing (New York, District of Columbia, or California preferred)
Approximately 4+ years of Conflicts Attorney experience in a large, multi-office law firm
Strong knowledge of legal ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct
Experience drafting conflict waivers and implementing ethical walls
Ability to communicate effectively with partners and senior attorneys
Experience with Intapp Open Conflicts and Intapp Walls preferred
Experience conducting corporate family research using Capital IQ, Dun & Bradstreet, or similar resources is a plus
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
