Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking a Fiduciary Accountant to join its sophisticated Trusts & Estates practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with fiduciary tax experience to work closely with attorneys, investment advisors, and high-net-worth clients on complex estate, trust, and tax matters. The role offers significant exposure to fiduciary accounting, estate planning, and tax compliance within a collaborative and professional environment.
The Fiduciary Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of fiduciary income tax returns, estate and gift tax returns, private foundation returns, and fiduciary accountings. Additional responsibilities include maintaining estate and trust records, calculating trustee and executor commissions, coordinating beneficiary distributions, preparing tax projections, conducting tax research, and ensuring timely filing of all required returns. This individual will serve as a key resource to attorneys and clients while supporting sophisticated estate, trust, and wealth transfer planning matters.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minimum of three years of recent fiduciary tax experience within a law firm, public accounting firm, or bank trust department. Strong knowledge of fiduciary income tax, estate and gift tax matters, Forms 1041, 706, 709, and 990-PF is required. Experience with CCH software, advanced Excel skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to client service and teamwork are highly desired.
