The Financial Analyst will provide actionable, accurate, and professionally presented information to their own department and other internal decision makers in support of the Firm’s initiatives, including the monitoring of financial / operational performance, trend analyses, and business development. This role will involve producing routine (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) PowerPoint presentations and excel files depicting consolidated financial / statistical performance and profitability, as well as department, client, and timekeeper views of the same. Additionally, the role will require ad hoc reporting, analyses, and miscellaneous data pulls as requested. This position will also interact with our larger Accounting team and contribute to the completion of periodic peer / bank surveys.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compile and provide senior leadership with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial review presentations and other ad hoc analyses
- Extract data from 3e, Master Data Hub (data warehouse), or other repositories for data queries or ad hoc analyses requested by your manager, other team members, attorneys (including Partners)
- Be first point of contact to provide data or analyses requests posted to a central request help distribution list
- Validate Power BI dashboard content and send notification email to constituents notifying them of recent updates and availability
- Work with other Business Services departments in compiling or analyzing data
- Work with the Accounting and Pricing teams to answer audit inquiries and complete benchmark surveys
- Create and modify SSRS reports / data threshold alerts as requested by attorneys and Business Service leadership
- Review SSRS reporting library and streamline contents to standardize reports / alerts and eliminate unused reports
- Assist with the input, collection, and reporting of budget data in our matter budgeting software
- Assist with the data validation between different repositories to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Iterate with Legal department leads on the completion of their annual business plans by providing and collecting supporting KPIs
- Assist the Professional Development and Accounting departments with metrics and reporting related to performance evaluations
- Work with attorneys by answering questions related to financial dashboards
- Assist partners by providing information and insights related to client/matter performance
- Serve as a thought-partner with others inside and outside the department by providing insight to data findings
- Assist with consolidating Firmwide budgeted components for Senior Leadership review, iterating with Department Leads, and preparing formal budget presentations for our Management Committee
- Work on additional projects and assignments as requested by our Co-Operating Officers, Senior Leaders, Director, FP&A and Pricing, Manager, Pricing and Data Analytics, Partners, and other Firm Leaders
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum 2 to 4 years experience required
- Proficiency with Excel required, advanced skill-level preferred
- Proficiency with SQL required, advanced skill-level preferred
- Experience with SSRS preferred
- Experience with organizing, navigating, manipulating, and maintaining large data sets and extracts required
- Experience gathering information from multiple data sources and combining into organized, logical, and methodical data sources that provide source information in formal presentations, preferred
- Experience with financial analytics and scenario modelling preferred
- Experience with PowerPoint preferred, intermediate to advanced skill-level preferred
- Familiarity with Elite 3e preferred
- Experience with professional services operational model preferred
- Demonstrate data sources cross-check to source data for validation, and are easily understood by others within the department
- Possess excellent organization skills with keen attention to detail
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Possess curiosity to investigate anomalies or unusual trends
- Demonstrate flexibility and initiative with respect to problem solving

The starting base salary range is $75,000 to $80,000, plus competitive benefits and bonus eligibility. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
