One of the 10 largest and fastest growing law firms in Buffalo, NY, is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Attorney for their Buffalo, NY office. Qualified candidates should have significant experience in related matters, including:
• Estate planning, retirement planning, wills and trust agreements, Medicaid planning, powers of attorney, asset preservation, estate and trust accounting procedures
• Succession planning, buy/sell agreements, deferred compensation plans, pension planning
• Estate & Trust Administration, working closely with both executors and beneficiaries to handle the opening of estates, as well as assisting with asset collection, payment of debts, filing appropriate tax returns, calculation of executors’ commissions, and closing the estate and paying distributions to beneficiaries
• Elder Law including Medicaid, Fair Hearings, creating Powers of Attorney, Supplemental/Special Needs Trusts, etc.
• Guardianships including Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies
The successful candidate for this position will have excellent writing, communication and analytical skills. Ideal candidates will have portable business or referral relationships that may lead to new business.
