Within the global Entertainment and Media Industry Group, we have a unique and market leading music practice. The music team works with the market leaders in the sector, from artists and musicians to labels, publishers and all the global streaming services. The US music team is based in LA and New York.
With the team’s continued expansion and success, the team is seeking the support of a Senior Client Development Coordinator to expand our client base and cultivate robust business development relationships within the US music sector, particularly in Los Angeles and New York. This strategic position will be based in our Century City office and will focus on enhancing our presence among clients and targets in the US music sector. The role involves driving strategic initiatives to significantly increase revenue and elevate the Firm’s profile in the US music industry.
The Senior Business Development Coordinator is expected to be a dynamic self-starter, capable of driving growth and positioning the firm as a leader in the legal services market. Expected to bring innovative ideas to the table for client engagement, sponsorship, and event strategies that place the client’s needs at the forefront. Must be adept at analyzing client feedback and market trends to continuously refine and enhance the firm’s client relationship-building efforts. The role demands a proactive approach, with a focus on results and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the firm and its clients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
-Interact with group leaders and other key attorneys to execute on the strategic priorities of the group; develop strong working relationships and maintain a high level of day-to-day interaction with lawyers.
-Craft and execute a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the US music industry.
-Identify and cultivate long-term partnerships with potential clients, leveraging the firm’s global network and resources.
-Analyze market trends and client needs to propose innovative solutions that align with the firm’s capabilities and growth objectives.
-Identify and pursue opportunities to develop new and existing clients as well as proactively seeking out ways to cross sell into the wider business.
-Identify, opportunities for music team.
-Coordinate pitch materials, presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals; review and edit content where necessary; support the development and maintenance of proposal content and capabilities. Ensure follow up is sought from prospect post pitch; track and act on actions which arise; assess how feedback can be used to enhance win rate.
-Draft, edit and maintain marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and attorney biographies; facilitate posting updates to firm website and intranet as needed.
-Design and implement thought leadership and content plans including for blogs, social media, webinars, podcasts.
-Prepare and draft submissions for major awards and legal directories to further the awareness and positioning of the music team.
-Work with our PR team to identify and pursue PR opportunities for the music group and facilitate the relationship between our internal PR team and external PR agency.
Enhanced Client Relationship Building:
-Strategic Client Engagement: Implement a client engagement strategy that includes regular touchpoints, personalized communications, and value-added interactions to strengthen client relationships. Use client feedback to refine client service offerings and ensure the firm is meeting and exceeding client expectations.
-Client Retention and Growth: Develop and execute strategies for client retention, identifying opportunities for cross-selling services and deepening client engagement with the firm. Monitor client relationships to identify risks of attrition and proactively address issues to maintain a strong client base.
-Coordinate contributions and input related to attorney experience and client information into business development systems including CRM and Foundation.
Sponsorship and Event Facilitation:
-Develop and Manage music led sponsorship opportunities: Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities that align with the firm’s brand and business development goals. Collaborate with other marketing/other teams to maximize the visibility and impact of sponsorships.
-Client-Facing Events and Outreach: Develop targeted outreach initiatives to engage specific client groups or sectors, leveraging personalized communication and tailored value propositions. Plan, coordinate and execute client-facing events, including the annual Grammy party. Use events as a platform to demonstrate the firm’s regional and global capabilities.
-Capitalize on the experience of our Industry Groups to (a) grow revenue for existing client relationships and (b) differentiate ourselves from other firms.
-Collate on the firm’s CRM all ROI from events and client outreach.
Cross-Group Collaboration:
-Work closely with the LA partners across various practice groups to ensure a cohesive approach to client development and service delivery.
-Facilitate the sharing of relevant LA market intelligence and client feedback to inform the firm’s strategic planning and service improvement efforts.
-Capitalize on the experience of our Industry Groups to (a) grow revenue for existing client relationships and (b) differentiate ourselves from other firms.
Market Analysis, Client Segmentation and Performance Measurement:
-Conduct in-depth analysis of market segments to identify untapped opportunities and develop targeted strategies for client acquisition and engagement.
-Segment the client base and develop tailored strategies for different client groups, recognizing the unique needs and potential of each segment.
-Monitor and report on the effectiveness of business development activities, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements
Education: College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field required.
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing related field required, including at least one year of business development experience and demonstrated project leadership.
-Law firm or professional services experience preferred. Previous marketing, public relations, events or media experience a plus, as well as an interest in and ability to understand the legal business environment, including industry terminology.
Skills:
-Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
-Extremely detail oriented, proactive and self-directed with ability to independently manage and appropriately prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines, sometimes with minimal oversight.
-Comfortable establishing effective firmwide working relationships with individuals at all levels.
-Possess, and be willing to continue to develop, strong organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
-Must have demonstrated experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
-Strong understanding of the music sector and the ability to navigate its unique business landscape.
-Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building influential relationships.
