A leading law firm is seeking a Business Development Coordinator, to support the firm’s business development, client relationship and revenue generating initiatives. Responsibilities of the Business Development Coordinator will be firmwide in scope, and will support business development activities across all departments and practice groups. This person will work directly with the firms Business Development Manager on a variety of business development efforts. This is a highly visible and strategic role that offers direct exposure to attorneys at all levels, and is on a supportive and collaborative marketing team.
Responsibilities:
• Handle day-to-day requests for business development materials, including drafting and customizing pitch materials, coordinating attorney input, and distributing final versions.
• Assist with the firm’s RFP process, including scoping and planning calls with attorneys; drafting, reviewing and finalizing response documents; and, coordinating and supporting information/experience gathering with attorneys, pricing team and other administrative groups as necessary to complete projects.
• Assist in competitive intelligence gathering, including performing searches using the firm’s experience database, ContactNet, S&P Global and other tools, in support of new business opportunities, client meetings, pitches, proposals, events and other business development initiatives.
• Support the periodic client and firm data requests, which may include general firm surveys, diversity data requests, and ESG surveys.
• Track win/loss statistics for pitches, proposals and other RFPs.
• Provide support to legal credentialing team by handling ad hoc submissions (Legal500, Chambers, Best Lawyers, etc.).
• Work collaboratively with others on the marketing team to create customized marketing materials for events and contribute to other marketing department projects as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree plus minimum of three years’ experience. Direct prior involvement in crafting a wide variety of client pitches and proposals is a must. Direct experience supporting and/or leading RFP responses is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and to collaborate with both lawyers and marketing and business development team members.
• Enthusiastic self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
• Balance of strong client-service orientation and persuasive executive presence required. • Strong technical skills (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and web platforms).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Based in New York or Washington, DC and willing to travel to other offices as needed (no more than 10%).
