Firm Overview: A growing full-service law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to join its dynamic team in Bethesda, MD. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong background in litigation support to contribute to a thriving legal practice.

Position Overview: The Legal Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and will be adept at managing a variety of tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • File Openings: Draft initial engagement letters, follow up with New File for approval, email clients, and return executed documents to New File.
  • Expense Management: Complete and track expense reports, credit card reconciliations, and reimbursements.
  • Calendar Maintenance: Manage and maintain attorney calendars.
  • File Maintenance: Organize and maintain both paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Court Filings: File documents with various courts.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and draft a variety of legal documents.
  • System Organization: Organize and maintain filing and retrieval systems.


  • Minimum of 5 years supporting litigation, with a deep understanding of litigation documents, e-filing, court rules, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with MD and DC Court Systems and e-filing procedures.
  • Proactive work style with strong analytical skills; ability to read, review, verify, and route correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
  • Strong production skills, ensuring accurate work product when transcribing tapes, formatting documents, inputting data, editing, copying, scanning, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven client service skills with a track record of building effective relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2017 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), internet research skills, document management systems, and attorney time entry software.
