Our direct law firm client seeks a Human Resources Manager who will serve as a key contributor to the firm’s people strategy by providing comprehensive, senior-level HR support and leadership across multiple offices. Based in the Firm’s Philadelphia office, this position will serve as a trusted HR partner to designated offices and/or departments and provide sound guidance on employee relations, performance management, training, policy interpretation, and workplace best practices. The role requires close collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and strong partnership with office and department leaders to ensure consistent high-quality HR support aligned with firm objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic HR partner to Office Managers and department leaders by anticipating and supporting HR needs; provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, engagement, and workplace effectiveness; assist in resolving employee concerns while promoting a positive, productive, and professional work environment.
  • Advise managers and employees on firm policies, employment law compliance, HR best practices, and appropriate approaches to complex or sensitive workplace matters.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, processes, training programs, and tools to strengthen day-to-day operations and advance firmwide initiatives.
  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment for staff positions, including sourcing strategies, candidate assessment, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Perform other Human Resources responsibilities and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience required, including experience in a generalist, business partner, or similar role, preferably in a professional services or law firm environment..
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, performance management, employee relations, and sound HR practices, with the ability to apply judgment to nuanced workplace situations.
  • Experience supporting California-based employees and applying California employment law required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to independently manage recruitment processes for a range of staff roles and serve as a credible advisor throughout the hiring process
