Our law firm client is expanding and currently seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team in Melville, NY.
Legal Assistants will assist and provide a wide range of administration support to lawyers and other legal professionals. Under general supervision, duties mainly consist of drafting letters and documents; organizing client conference and attorney meetings; maintaining attorney calendars, etc.
Duties include:
- Providing high quality administrative and legal litigation secretarial support in a timely manner.
- Assisting with the preparation of legal documents.
- Client communication.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in business administration or related field.
- At least three years of litigation legal assistant experience.
- Commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to work with legal technology such as (NYSCEF and Federal court ECF, transcription software, digital dictation equipment, etc.)
- Must be self-motivated, self-starter and be able to work independently.
- High level of dependability in completing assigned tasks and following through on assignments.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
