The Miami Office is looking for a skilled Administrative Legal Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process.
Responsibilities
- Strong document management: format documents using Styles, create Table of Contents, Table of Authorities and miscellaneous documents
- Summarize cases and prepare reports for attorneys and clients
- Conduct research, investigate facts and inform attorneys
- Draft, proofread and prepare legal documents such as audits and pleadings
- Prepare and file documents with courts
- Maintain high volume of client files (paper and electronic)
- Track and update case databases with status and pertinent case information
- Manage records, projects and calendars to make sure everything functions efficiently
- Index and update pleadings and discovery binders
- Managing calendars, coordinate attorney and client meetings and make travel arrangements for lawyers
- Organize exhibits, documents, briefs and appendices
- Redact information from documents
- Assist in trial preparation by preparing binders, indexing discovery, and prepare trial exhibits
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of legal secretarial experience in a litigation firm
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in e-Filing
- Must be able to work independently, anticipate work needs, be hands-on and proactive
- Must be flexible and able to work beyond regular work schedule on short notice
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, etc.
- Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
