Position Summary: The Application Management Engineer oversees all facets of our organization’s diverse desktop infrastructure. Responsibilities encompass a comprehensive range of tasks, from configuring and testing to distributing, upgrading, and providing ongoing support for the operating system (OS) and various applications. This position plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless operation and optimal performance of the firm’s desktop environment.

Essential functions:
• Manages and administers imaging servers across multiple office locations, including New York, DC, and London.
• Develops, configures, and maintains the organization’s desktop, laptop, and Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops images to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Keep imaging server drivers updated for various desktop and laptop models to guarantee optimal performance.
• Oversees the creation, configuration, and updates of core and practice-specific applications for the firm.
• Coordinates comprehensive software application testing, configuration, installation, and quality assurance processes to facilitate smooth and timely deployments.
• Establishes and maintains stringent controls over test and production systems to uphold system integrity.
• Creates, manages, and updates imaging task sequences to streamline deployment procedures.
• Manages the infrastructure of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop servers, including Broker servers, Provisioning servers, and Licensing servers.
• Installs, configures, and maintains applications tailored for the “Individual Clients Services” group, providing ongoing support as needed.
• Participates actively in third-party application patching initiatives and desktop vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Serves as the primary escalation point for IT staff members, offering research, troubleshooting, and resolution for new and existing applications and services.
• Administers and manages group policies for firm desktops and user accounts to ensure compliance and security.
• Provides after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis for all application responsibilities, including remote access and application support.
• Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with critical software vendors and service providers.
• Initiates and manages support tickets with vendors such as Microsoft, iManage, Litera, Adobe, and others as needed.
• Ensures timely escalation and communication with management as necessary to address critical issues and concerns.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of educational qualifications and/or practical experience.

Qualifications:
• Desired background in law firms or professional services to facilitate understanding of industry specific requirements.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in application support and development within a Microsoft platform environment.
• Proficiency in Windows 10, 11, and server operating systems is essential.
• Mandatory experience with Office 365 suite.
• Required expertise with iManage DeskSite, iManage Work 10, various Litera products, and Adobe Acrobat DC.
• Proficient utilization of Microsoft Configuration Manager is necessary.
• Preference for experience with Configuration Manager’s Cloud Management Gateway and Cloud Distribution Points.
• Preferred familiarity with Intune.
• Required experience in software packaging, re-packaging, and customization using MST files, alongside proficiency with InstallShield.
• Essential experience with Ivanti Environment and Personalization Server.
• Preferred experience in desktop and application patching utilizing Configuration Manager.
• Mandatory experience with various Citrix products and tools such as Studio, Director, Provisioning Servers, Virtual Desktop Agent, and Workspace App.
• Required experience in building and maintaining non-persistent terminal server desktops.
• Proficiency in Active Directory management and Group Policies is essential.
• Necessary expertise in PowerShell scripting and command-line operations.
• In-depth knowledge of desktop hardware, with a focus on Lenovo and Dell laptops and desktops.
• Preferred experience with Citrix Desktop as a Service (DaaS).
• Preferred knowledge of the OneSource Application Suite, TaxtInterest software, BNA Estate Gift Tax Planner, NYSBA Surrogate Court Forms and other Trust&Estates and Tax programs.
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration and interaction.
