Responsible for all aspects of system/application integration and engineering including problem-solving, configuration, architecture and implementation efforts for large and / or complex projects with an emphasis in operational excellence and continuous improvement of systems engineering related processes and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

1. Responsible for all aspects of system/application integration and engineering including problem-solving, configuration, architecture and implementation efforts for large and / or complex projects with an emphasis in operational excellence and continuous improvement of systems engineering related processes and procedures.
2. Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and resolving complex problems reported via the corporate ticketing system for Microsoft and Independent Software Provider software.
3. Develops, maintains and distributes support and engineering documentation in support of first contact resolution efforts.
4. Proficient in the administration of Active Directory administration, GPO’s, logon scripts, Windows file system security and registry.
5. Ability to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applications assigned to support role. (RES, SEP, Credant, SFTP, GPP, SCCM and business applications)
6. Proficient with the deployment and licensing of Microsoft Office suite.
7. Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently, provide error free work, apply ITIL practices in the assessment and prioritization of assigned tasks and manage problems to closure.
8. 3+ years of experience with the packaging and deployment of operating systems, security patches & application upgrades using Managesoft, SCCM, WIM based packaging tools and basic scripting languages
9. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of associates within the organization
10. Leads/participates in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.
11. Supports off hours (evening, weekends and holiday) installations and upgrades as needed.

12. Proactively maintains and expands knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies related to the Firm’s IT-supported hardware and software applications. Researches, evaluates and provides input on software products and researches, evaluates and recommends enhancements to current policies, procedures, and technologies.

13. Under the general direction of the Manager or Director and in conjunction with the user community, performs independent research and evaluation of software products to fulfill the software needs of the Firm. May specialize by being aligned with certain administrative departments, legal practice areas, or technologies. Responsible for analyzing technical software applications and promoting optimal performance through systems development and implementation. Works independently to develop necessary expertise in areas of rapid technical change.

14. Performs or coordinates testing and bug-tracking for new software and hardware implementations. Compiles documentation on testing and problem resolutions and shares knowledge with colleagues. Assesses impact and prioritizes items for resolution, and makes recommendations regarding application upgrades, deployment, or other changes.

15. Initiates and maintains contacts with consultants and applications vendors for technical support and to ensure the appropriate implementation, maintenance and support of applications and upgrades. Manages these vendor relationships for both technical and business effectiveness.

16. Participates in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned. Provides project management and leadership for application installations, upgrades, and/or modifications; may require management of multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to critical paths and project goals.

17. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Minimum Job Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical knowledge. Appropriate certifications preferred.

2. Must possess a minimum of 4 years' experience (direct experience, including best practices) in Engineering, including knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards. 2-3 years of related experience in software deployment and software/hardware configuration preferably with some experience in law firm environment.

3. Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification and Legal services experience strongly preferred
4. Able to provide off hours (nights & weekends) to support project and escalated issues, as needed.

5. Thorough working knowledge of desktop, laptop and printer hardware.

6. Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications, legal research applications, Active Directory, scripting languages, software deployment, document management and document assembly.

7. Working knowledge of the Firm’s applications.

8. Thorough command of the industry language and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical users.

9. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, participate as a team leader or member of a team, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner.

10. Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all learning styles, personality types and levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the Firm.
